DDR, Bodyweight, Trance, Laptop...
Apr. 27th, 2004 01:08 pmI got to do lots of interesting things over the last few days...
-
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando - I finished the game. After finishing it, you have the opportunity to play through a "second quest" of sorts known as "challenge mode". The enemies are harder, but you get more powerful weapons. AND there is a bolt multiplier. If you kill enough enemies, the number of bolts (money) you get from killing future enemies goes up, to a maximum of 20x. It resets to 1 when you get hit. It's very cool, and makes for more of a challenge.
-
Second Hand Lions - I rented this DVD over the weekend and watched it. It's a coming of age story of a boy who goes to live with his two rich (but rather strange) uncles over the summer. I'm not sure whether I like it or not, so I'm going to have to watch it a few more times. :-)
-
Laptop - The laptop that my employer ordered for me finally came. I put GenToo on it and have been learning the ins and outs of GenToo. I sure like the distro, it's very easy to just install new stuff. "emerge package" and that's about it. All dependences are taken care of, /etc/ld.conf is regenerated, config files are written, and stuff just works. Very impressive.
-
DDR - I played 6 straight games of DDR on Sunday afternoon, and my foot held up pretty well. I was able to nail 3-step songs, had some difficulty with 4-step songs, and lots of difficulty with 5-step songs. I need more practice. And maybe some tips on how to get batter at it. :-)
-
Physical Conditioning - I weighed myself at the gym last night, and I'm down to 186 pounds, yet I'm lifting more than ever on the various machines. This is very good news for me, and I'm very happy about it. I'm going to have to start cutting notches in my belt soon!
- Anthrocon - The con is less than 3 months away, AIEEE! I got some of my paperwork done with regards to that, and have been using TWiki to keep track of some things. It's a little clunky, but I prefer it to using office apps...
-
Mewsic - Co-worker T hooked me up with quite a bit of trance/dance music to listen to. I've become acquainted with Iio, Paul van Dyk, The Roc Project, and John "00" Flemming. Most of the stuff is rather rockin', and is great to write code to.
