I went to see Dr. S again the other day. He looked at my MRIs and noted that there is no sign of inflammation of the nerve, which was very strange. Since there is no visible inflammation, that means that he really didn't want to remove the nerve. What he suggested instead was something called sclerosing, which involves injecting alcohol in the area where the nerve is multiple times over a period of 8 weeks.

I'm going to another pawdiatrist on Thursday for a second opinion, but I think I'm going to go with this method. The neat thing about alochol is that the ONLY tissues it affects are nerve tissues. Plus, it doesn't kill the nerve, it just renders it unable to carry signals. That's better than surgery, which removes the nerve, pisses off the surrounding tissues, and leaves a "void" where the nerve used to be.

Sclerosing has an 89% success rate of eliminating symptoms of neuromas.

In other news, searching on Google for "Dance With Intensity" brings up dwi.claws-and-paws.com as the #1 match. Sweet!
