I found a nice form at http://gaswatch.energy.gov/ to report gouging of gasoline prices. They also suggest that you contact local authorities to file a complaint.
There's one place in my town that's up to $3.50. Thing is, there's another gas station 100 feet away that's only $3.10. I'm tempted to stand next to the first gas station with a bullhorn and direct people to cheaper gas. :-)
If you don't like the price of gas, don't buy gas. Walk to work, or take public transit, or ride a bike, or work from home. Gas stations charge a given price because *people are willing to buy at that price*. Gas is not a constitutional right.
Agreed. A station that raises their prices way too high above market prices will suffer naturally, as fewer people will buy gas there and they will lose money. Its redundantly dumb for government to be there to smack them up aside the head for making a dumb business decision.
