gizaOn Wednesday evening, I resigned from CAUCE's Board of Directors. I had been doing less and less with them in the past year or so, and figured that it was about time I step aside and let someone else fill the roles I had occupied. I'll still be hanging around with them as an advisor, and I'll probably still be doing coding for them in the future.
Last evening, I attended a Python Users' Group meeting. I got to see how Python is used with robotics, and was allowed to play with the simulator a little, to see how the robots "learned" about their surroundings via their sensors, and made more intelligent decisions as they learned more about their environment. It'll still be a long way off before robots can bring us beer, though.
I also met some guy at the users' group named Eric S. Raymond, or ESR for short. :-) He's actually pretty cool IRL. Quite the geek.
Finally, I shaved my head late last night. I only had about a quarter inch of hair on my head, but that was a little too much for a regular razor, so I ended up being able to only shave about an inch at a time. Took about an hour to shave my entire head. I now look a little shiny, and the feel is very interesting, and a bit strange. I'm now sure if I'll keep this look or go back to the buzzcut.
