Orange juice go BOOM!
Oct. 15th, 2002 10:21 amHere's a little advice if anyone likes to have Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice (FCOJ). Do NOT, I repeat NOT let let the stuff thaw out before opening it, thinking that it will be easier to mix in. If you do let it thaw out, then you risk what happened to me last night...
When trying to open the can of FCOJ, the piece of paper broke. Okay, no problem, I can just pry the other half of the lid off with a spoon. That was a bad move. Just as I got the lid off, the damn thing slid rather suddenly, which made for a particular voilent explosion of FCOJ. All over the stove, all over the floor, and all over ME. And since it's concentrated at a ratio of 3:1, it was an orange flavored (and smelling) and rather sticky syrup.
Oh well, at least my kitchen floor is spotless now, after cleaning up the orange-smelling mess...
