I had sex with an Alligator!
May. 3rd, 2003 10:36 pmWell, not really. It was actually a name of a mixed drink that I had the other week. And it makes such a cool title for this entry! :-)
I've been playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid 2 lately. Not so much the game itself, but rather the VR missions that come with the game. I discovered that I've gotten a lot better at them after having played through the entire game.
Somewhere in there I hooked up with
gatcat when he was in Philly for several hours on a layover between flights. We had a few pints, and he had a Philly cheese steak.
Some time after that, I hooked up with
jbadger when he was in town for some workshops. We hung out for an evening and we did what furries did best: talked. It had been awhile since I've seen him, and we played "catch up".
Work has been pretty interesting lately. I've been working on a project that will e-mail our customers a few weeks before their subscriptions renew, and letting them know that yes, we'll be charing their credit card again. Hopefully this will bring down our chargeback rate a bit. I also managed to convince my boss that yes, not saving the IP and timestamp of people who sign up on our mailing lists is BAD, and could get us labeled as a spammer. Heh.
Earlier toady, I ventured into the badlands, er, I mean West Philly, and hooked up with Dave from Radio Volta, an independent radio station. We hung out at 4134 Lancaster and fiddled around with their computers for a bit, trying to set up a Linux box to use for NATing. Unfortunately, we had some bad CDs, so we didn't get very far. We also talked about future plans for bringing some of the machines online once a computer lab is set up.
