The Adam's Mark: Reloaded
Jun. 4th, 2003 11:08 pmI finally saw Matrix: Reloaded this past weekend. That movie is absolutely amazing. They did a great job of expanding on the universe and adding more to the story. I think I'll go see it again a few more times. I also saw the movie Adaptation, courtesy of Loki (
joshvon). That movie was a little weird. In fact, I would say it's pretty close to a mindf*ck, actually. Interesting to watch, though. I also got to play Halo online this weekend. That was also fun, even if I did get my ass handed to me. :-)
Work has been going pretty good over the last couple of days. I got a cool new project to work on, and it's been quite a learning experience. I spent most of today doing internals for a search function that started to resemble the internals of a database by the time I was done. The more complex things get, the more they resemble stuff that's already out there. :-)
I stopped by the Adam's Mark tonight and took care of some Anthrocon stuff. While there, I went for a ride on the elevators. The new ones are wicked fast I went from the looby to what, the 23rd floor, in less than 30 seconds. The elevator car was going at roughly one floor per second. Big improvement over last year. Hopefully the system will scale better under the load that will be on it at AC this year.
Also, as a bonus, I saw some religious group of predominantly African-American folks was at the Adam's Mark tonight. I'm not sure, but I believe that this was the same group that was at the hotel right before Anthrocon 2001. It's good to know that we won't be seeing them before AC this year, and on the same token, they won't have to see us, either. :-)
