I apparently have computers on the brain. I know this because I had a dream last night where came up with the following things in my dream:

- Creating service for selling long distance services on cards
- Realizing that I would need at least 1 T1 to my office to handle the calls
- Whoops, when someone calls in, and the system makes an outbound connection to the destination, that means I would need twice as much bandwidth as I thought.
- Thinking of maybe getting a T3 instead (greater bandwidth), but thought for multiple T1s so I could have redunancy
- Speaking of redundancy, I'd have to know how to configure the switch at the other end of the T1s to cycle through other T1s if one of them was down.
- Heck, I might as well have the equiment coloed at a CO and then I won't have to worry about all those T1s, plus I'd likely have direct access to various IXCs that way and not have to deal with loop issues from the ILEC.
- And then there's that nasty 2.9 cents/min tariff on long distance service. I'd have to make the outbound traffic be VoIP, terminate it at a PBX in the recipient's area code, and have that PBX send an outgoing local call. (Hey, it worked for MCI!)
- Finally, I would need to have some sort of database system to keep track of the minutes and such that were available for each card.

...waking up from all this earlier this morning was a real mind blowing experince. HOLY CRAP! And the scary thing is that I don't even *do* telephony stuff! The last item (the database) on that list is about the only thing that I am actually qualified of doing...

I think I need to have Dr. K prescribe me some sedatives or something, so I stop having whacked out dreams like this...
