Monday morning!

Well, I got to play in the snow this morning. By "play", I mean "drive during rush hour traffic", and not necessarily in the same direction that my wheels were pointing, either! My first appointment of the morning was with a financial advisor from American Express Financial Services. We discussed my financial situation in more detail and how I can better invest my money for retirement down the road. As he put it, I'm going to be paying now for my expenses when I retire at age 65 or whatever, so it's important that I put that money in the right places.

It turns out that there are a lot of different places I can invest my money. If I didn't have a 401(k) at work, I could use an taxable IRA plan. Mutual funds and Roth IRAs are also an option to me. There are also different ways I can handle my cash reserves, such as storing it with ING Direct, which has a much higher interest rate than a standard bank.
