Proposed Penalties for spammers

Based on this Slashdot post, I'd like to suggest we start penalizing spammers in the following ways:

• Being sentenced to write, by hand, an apology to every person they've spammed.


• To memorize and pronounce the words made of random letters that they use to evade spam filters.


• To change their legal names to whatever they use in the "From" field. I want to see people named "Recipe 4Living", "Approval Dept", "Sr. Loan Specialist", and "Always Saving"!

If anyone can come up with other "appropriate" penalties for spammers please, reply and post them here!

gouge out their eyes so it takes them 10 times as long to "read" their email, if they even bother to use computers at that point.

I dunno...I think Signore Loan Specialist sounds like a spiffy guy! A dashing and heroic spokesman for the banking industry! We'll need capes, a bull, and a mariacce (sp) band!

They should be required to downgrade all their technology.

Using a VIC-20 with tape drive and 300 baud modem should frustrate them sufficiently, but it'll only work as long as they have to use a Giant Brick cell phone.

How about the "hacker" punishment, where they aren't allowed anywhere near a computer for the rest of their lives or something. Hah.
