Breast Implants Linked are to Suicide, according to this article in New Scientist.

"I feel poorly about myself so I'm going to get my breats made bigger, that will magically fix everything and make people like me! While I'm at it, I'll smoke, too. That'll help me lose weight."

What does this say about our society and the messages that it sends towards females?

On a similar note.. Ever noticed how many furs seem to think that if they were a 'real furry' (i.e., anthropomorphic animal) in society, all of their problems would be fixed immediately?

If they didn't like you before, they're gonna run screaming when you don't even look remotely human.

LOL.

I dunno, every time I hear things like this coming out of furs I find it hilarious (though ludicrous might be the more accurate term).

Furs seem to have a lot of silly ideas. My favorite, to skirt the boundaries of ranting, is that we/they should have every right to make fun of non-furs, but at the same time want tolerance from non-furs.

1) If you won't tolerate them, why should they tolerate you? Or are you saying that, past words to the contrary-

2) Regular people actually _are_ better?

Sadly, while furs in RL situations may not be this way, through online mediums I've seen furs treat each other in ways that I've never seen 'normal' people behave. And I don't mean kinky sex.

Oops, guess I did rant a bit there. Sorry.

Anyway, your comment was amusing.

Mm.. I'm not sure you got what I was saying, or I got what you were saying. I wasn't trying to make a comment about society's tolerance of the furry culture, or in particular some of the more open and often stranger furs who make fantastic media-magnets.

Rather, I was merely trying to say that a little rational thought goes a long way, whether it's breast implants, cosmetic surgery or having a tail permanently glued to your butt. It might make you happy in how you perceive yourself, but your life's hardly about to make a huge turn for the better in terms of people liking you.

But I digress. :)

Well, I started with your comment, then went in my own direction. So sue me. :)
Ugh, media-magnet furs...let's not start that ball rolling...
Wow, applying rational thought to one's actions...I dunno, sounds kind of scary. And logical. Can't have that!

Besides, any reasonable person knows that if you want to be liked you should just throw money at people. (grin)

Hey, an artist from 200 years ago would freak at our anorexia fetished women of today. In a lot of famous painting, beutifull was chubby
