- Tonight was my first night back at the gym since before Anthrocon.

- My box of MREs finally came in. If you're looking for MREs, I'd like to mention that the Saratoga Trading Company sucks! They happily took my money on May 29th, but did not bother to actually ship the order until around June 7th. I wrote sales@saratogatradingcompany.com asking what's up, and they didn't even respond. That's the last time I order from them.

- [livejournal.com profile] felix_carni swung by the other night. We hung out, and I introduced him to House and Penn and Teller's Bullshit

- I returned to work yesterday (Wednesday). Nothing blew up while I was away. I got a new project to work on and have been banging away on that since then.

We SO love P&T and we so love "BULLSHIT".

They make many points about people who rail against science that I've ranted on about for years.

What's an MRE?

Went back to work? How is the industry doing?

For MRE's, I've usually gone to http://www.longlifefood.com which belongs to one of the companies that makes 'em for the military. They sell the excess production for their parent company. I dunno how they compare price-wise, but I've always gotten stuff quickly from them.

MRE stands for Meal: Ready to Eat. MRE's are what the US military uses nowadays instead of the old C rations. They're great things to have on hand as part of an emergency kit at home.

Yes. Considering your line of work, maybe you should rephrase that.

I just checked. They're expensive: $85/case without heaters.

This place (http://www.mrefoods.com/cart/prodcat.asp?catref=MRE%20Full%20Meals) sells them for $64.75. I think I'm trying them next.

Uhhh...if you were that hard up for food at the con, we could have bought you a pizza.

(You mean people eat MRE's even if they don't have to? Ye gods...)

I knew we had a Supersponsor Lounge, I just never got to see it. Then again, I spent the entire weekend in Hall C and didn't go through the Dealers Room once, and only saw about half of the Art Show. I really need to work on getting a second.

I just went out to get pizza from Pizza Prima instead. Maybe not quite as healthy, but eh, it's food. The milk and cookies were nice, too. :-)
