Virgin Apache is hard to find
Apr. 8th, 2003 02:24 pmThis article in ApacheWeek talks about a bunch of distributions that patch the copies of Apache that they pass around with their distributions.
This isn't necessarily a BAD thing, but it's one more reason why I like to compile my own software -- that way I won't get used to using a version of Apache (or PHP or whatever) that has non-default options enabled, which could set me up for problems in the future if I ever switch to a virgin build.
In other news, finding virgin Apache developers is fairly easy. ;-)
