Random update of personal stuff!
Nov. 16th, 2006 08:46 pmI've been up to a lot of interesting things in my personal life lately, and figured I should get around to writing about them.
When I last wrote about my knees some 8-10 weeks ago, I was in a lot of pain from the chondromalacia. Since then I've been wearing my knee braces and paying close attention to how much I walk on the treadmill in the gym. The pain has almost gone away totally.
The downside is that I've head a little weight gain at the gym, on account of me not be able to get my heart rate above 110 on the treadmill. I'm probably going to see my doctor again so he can take a closer look at my knees, see if they're healed fully, and help me figure out what I can do for aerobics without reinjuring myself.
A little while ago, I got around to upgrading the Anthrocon website to Drupal 4.7. That was... interesting. Drupal Core went pretty smoothly, but a few third party modules had poorly tested upgrade paths, and it showed. Then there was Buddylist which, according to the developer, had NO upgrade path between 4.6 and 4.7. Yeah, thanks for screwing us 4.6 users, buddy.
Since I now had a working Drupal installation on my dev system, I went and converted my backup and sanity modules to use 4.7 and published on Drupal's website. I also came up with plans for another module I can write to fill a specific need. I'll write more about that project once it is underway. :-)
Last weekend,
sirkain was in town, so he,
unclekage, and myself went to see Borat. That movie was a total hoot! If you like offensive humor, then I recommend seeing this movie. If not, then you probably shouldn't watch it. Later in the day,
sagejackal and
scooterskunk came by, and the group of us hung out, ate nachos, and watched insightful TV shows, such as Drawn Together and South Park. At around midnight, we discovered we were out of chips and salsa, so we made a late night run to Wawa to get more. That was fun too.
This weekend is PhilCon. After thinking about it, I think I will get out and make a day trip to that con, since it is only a short train ride away. I wanted to attend Midwest FurFest this year, but circumstances regarding vacation time and money made it out of my reach. Oh well, there's always next year.

And chips and salsa are SO worth late night runs for. I`m glad to see someone else agrees.
