Hell, I could scream, "Ich mag' Dich gern, und Du bist mein Freund!" at the top of my lungs ("I like you a lot, and you are my friend") at some unsuspecting person who didn't speak the language, and they'd cower.
Actually the Danish military used German as the official language for officers when commanding their troops, because it's extremely good at yelling stuff in.
They only changed the military language to Danish after the 1st World War.
I think Japanese is a looooot worse like that. It always sounds like they're about to tear your head off. Asian languages are generally not made for whispering. You can't pronounce them properly if you lower your voice, at least German isn't that bad.
