I managed to get locked out of my apartment this morning. I took some trash out, and when I returned, my key would only go halfway into the lock. So, I had to call the landlord, and 40 minutes later the maintenance guy popped in. He sprayed some WD-40 in the lock, and that fixed the problem. Apparently the lock had just "dried out".

So, the moral of the story is that if you keep your holes well lubricated, you can open doors. Er, or something...

I also forgot to mention that The SpamCon Foundation got its 501(c)3 tax status awhile ago. It is now a bona fide non-profit, in the same league as the Red Cross and simailar organizations. Donations are tax deductible and all that. Two things we are looking for are computers (new, used, whatever) and co-location services somewhere in the Philadelphia area. If anyone can offer those things, do let me know. Remember: tax deductible. :-)

I have a P-133 MMX (I think I got that right) that I never use these days. I could stand to get rid of it along with the case it's in and possibly a floppy drive or other stuff (I'd have to look into that).

A little too old, I'm afraid. The machines will be used as servers, so we're looking more for stuff in the range of 500 Mhz and 128 Megs of RAM. I intend to be cannibalizing and piecing together stuff too, so that I can get more RAM in each box and do software RAID-1 mirroring.

Heh, maybe ask me around the beginning of 2004 then. That's my next major overhaul period.
