Last weekend was pretty fun! On Friday night [livejournal.com profile] omnibahumut and I went to see Nerds://A Musical Software Satire by the Philadelphia Theatre Company. The musical chronicles the computing industry from the early days of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates up through the issues with Netscape and ending around 2002 or so.

The Homebrew Computer Club:

Bill Gates presents his first witness, Benjamin Franklin:

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak start the computer revolution:

Tom Watson of IBM. He'll kick your ass:

While you do not need to be a geek to see this musical, it helps. It will make things like their rendition of Apple's 1984 commercial make much more sense!

The rating of the musical would be a solid PG-13, due to sexual inneuendo ("Do you need a hand Jobs?") and mature situations between Bill Gates and Netscape. (I am not making this up)

On Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] akakaryuu and Whitefeet Squirrel joined us and we hung out, played Nintendo Wii, and watched scathing video game reviews from James the Angry Nintendo Nerd and PlayItBogart.

On Sunday, I slept in and did a few random chores around the place. That was about it, really.

I could sure go for more weekends like this.
