Anyone have rental car experience?
Mar. 18th, 2007 02:21 pmSo, I've been looking to sell my car for awhile now. (the reason why I haven't done so yet is pretty complicated, but that's another story)
One of the things I need to work out is what to do during the times when I do need a vehicle. I think I have short term trips covered, thanks to PhillyCarShare. However, long term trips (like say, to Anthrocon) are more of a concern. I've been looking at doing the car rental thing, and I discovered that Philly Airport might have what I am looking for.
Here is their car rental page: http://www.phl.org/rental_cars.html
That's 7 different car rental companies in total. I did some additional research, and each of them is open 24/7. This works out well for me, because I could conceivably rent a car on Saturday morning and have it back on Sunday night. (contrast with some of the rental places in Center City Philly, I'd have to rent the car on Friday night and return it Monday morning, thus paying for an extra day I'm not using).
The only question is: which car rental company to use? They all seem to have comparable rates, so my main concerns would be things like availability, customer service experiences, and loyalty programs.
If anyone has any comments, pro or con, on the various car rental companies, I'd love to hear them!
