The new version of Paint is this year's must-have killer app.

Yep, it's like a sickness alright.

Considering just about everything they said in there was true, perhaps Microsoft just needs better ad execs and they can be popular like Apple.

Of course, MacPaint eventually copied them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPaint) . . . but they didn't even manage to get the colours right!

Actually.. Microsoft did improve paint for Vista after they heard how liked it was by pixel artists in the east. ;) Moved colours up to the top so it was nearer the toolbar, updated the tool icons and added png support amongst a few other things.

If you want to talk about clones, take a look at GIMP... I mean come on, abbreviating your application name to a politically incorrect term. Problem is it's too accurate, I mean with all it's power and flexibility it just hobbles the user... gives them far too many options to be useful, I mean who really wants to have both a brush and a pencil?

#FIXME:Make sound much less serious, if possible, rot13x2

I just want to find out where they got that popsicle-stick of a chief engineer. He uses Paint because any heavier of an app would probably break both his arms.

Hey, don't laugh. Back in the DOS days it beat out anything else I could get on 5.5" floppies. Even was better than TurboPaint for DOS in some ways.

Very funny. They haven't modified Paint much from Windows 3.1 ---> XP.
