I had an eventful weekend!

On Saturday, I went to a workshop that a friend of mine was running and I built 802.11 wireless directional antenna out of a tin can. I tested it on the radio equipment that was also there, and the ratio of signal reflection (when the signal reflects back onto the antenna degrades the quality, or something like that) was only 1.1. Not bad, considering that a perfect ratio is 1.0! We also learned that these antennas have a 17-18 db gain over omnidirectional antennas, which is kinda cool! Now all I need is some 802.11 wireless adapaters for my machines...

Saturday night, [livejournal.com profile] jouva swung by, and I got him hooked on the skateboarding game in Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance. Hee. :-)

Took care of some AC stuff on Sunday, and got to watch the Animatrix DVD. It's very cool and does a great job of expanding the Matrix universe. All the stories are a little dark, though. :-\

I saw Dr. K this morning and got a power play! My main reason for seeing him was about a lump in my lower back that hurt a little. Turned out that it was a Lipoma, which is a rather benign growth of fatty tissue. The chance of it becoming cancerous is like 1 in 10,000 and it is easily removed by surgery, should I opt to do so.

I also spoke to Dr. K a little about my ongoing foot problem and since he pointed out that there STILL hasn't been an actual diagnosis made, that I should probably see an Orthopedic doctor. Orthopedics is the study of the bones and joints, and there may be some other condition that he may be able to diagnose. Dr. K also told me about a new technique for eliminating neuromas (assuming that's what I have) with ultrasound waves that are used to kill the nerve, making it another form of treatment available to me.
