I've been posting some news articles in my LJ posts lately. I normally read a lot of news articles online and such. I guess it's my way of sharing with others some of the more interesting things that I've found. Anyway...

The Lion King on Broadway's Jason Raize Dies at 28 - This really sucks. :-( Jason played the character of Adult Simba in TLKoB for a few years, and was amazing at it. He had a great singing voice, too. I'm glad I got to see the show while he was still performing in it. What a shame that he's gone now.

Attempts at planting backdoor in Linux failed - Just a Slashdot comment wherein someone explains the virtues of open-source software in that it's harder to plant backdoors in without being noticed by others.

Eliminate your car's blind spot - How to adjust your side-view mirrors to eliminate (or come close to eliminating) your car's blind spot when you drive. I tried this technique and it worked out well for me. I no longer have to look over my shoulder for several seconds when performing a lane change, which probably makes me a better driver.

You Might Be an Anti-spam Kook If... - A humorous article that talks about one facet of our society: anti-spammers who get a little overzealous and think that they have The Final Solution to the spam problem. Humorous and informative.

What Does Depression Feel Like? - Pretty straightforward. It talks about how depression feels like, with some everyday examples. I've never had full-blown depression, but this does give me a better idea of what it's like.

The Most Mis-used Social Security Number of All Time - Ever wonder what the most mis-used SSN is? This tells the number, and gives the story behind it. Neat piece of history.

The Anatomy of Credit Card Numbers - Some really neat reading that talks about the numbering scheme used in credit card numbers, and how the individual numbers are laid out. Includes a bit of Java source code at the end for geeks.
