I am not sure this is a real big deal. All this shows is that Goering has read The Prince, as must have about any politician since Machiavelli. The techniques of mass-manipulation are well-known, and it should really not come as a surprise to see them in use now and then. It's may not even be a big deal, so long as you can recognize them for what they are.

But then, maybe there's not much to say in the first place on a topic that autoGodwins itself from the very beginning... :)

As much as I dislike Bush, it helps to keep things in perspective that it could be much much worse.
