Meet the co-workers!
May. 6th, 2004 12:10 pmI've put this off for awhile, but I figured I should write an LJ entry about my co-workers at the new job. In no specific order, they are:
D - The guy in charge of the technology department. He's got a lot of security background, even helped write a book on the subject. He also has a firm knowledge of sysadmin and software development. As a boss, he's great to work for. He gives me the list of things I need to do, and pretty much stays out of my way so I can get my job done. I only meet with him about once or twice a week as a result. (Contrast with my previous employer, that asked me several times each DAY what I was doing).
T - The Sr. Engineer. T is a pretty funny guy. He's the biggest smartass in the entire company and can get quite loud and hyperactive when he gets worked up. His insanity is justified, however, because he's one of the most knowledgeable and skillful people I have ever worked with. He also pulls all-nighters fairly consistently, which is more than I can do.
J - The other programmer. Likes to jump out of airplanes regularly. Also a pretty funny guy, but much quieter. He's been pretty cool in helping me understand our product.
T2 - The sysadmin. Older fellow, he has kids in the Boy Scouts. An even quieter guy, but he knows how to cause trouble when the situation warrants, such as getting me to steal the HR Director's Red Stapler. :-)
K - The sales guy who sits on the other side of the wall next to my desk. Also a pretty cool guy. I told him a little about Eurofurence and gave him an Anthrocon conbook the other day. He seems pretty cool about furry, which is good.
That's all for now. See you around... same leopard-time... same leopard-channel!
