SpamCop vs. Spammer
May. 21st, 2004 12:52 pmSpam Adversaries to Meet, Debate
The above is an article about Julian Haight from SpamCop agreeing to have a public debate with Scott Richter, a known spammer.
Based on seeing Scott's behavour on The Daily Show a couple of months back, here's my prediction of what will happen:
1) Julian asks Scott some pointed questions.
2) Scott lies/obfuscates
3) Julian refutes Scott/catches him in a lie
4) Scott continues to lie/obfuscate
5) Chaos ensues
I do not think this is very wise of either party since it could embarass either of them, or worse yet, get them to say something that contradicts with that they tell the court during later proceedings. (Oh, Richter sued SpamCop because users have been using it to... complain about his spamming, surprise!)
(Oh, and if anyone would like a copy of the rather hilarious Daily Show segment with Richter lying through his teeth, drop me a line via e-mail. :-)
