A new virus that infects Windows 2000 and XP machines is out by the name of Korgo. It monitors what you type and sends the keystrokes back to its creator. Things like credit card numbers, bank account passwords, and the like can be captured.

You do not need to do anything special to get this virus, as your machine can receive it over a network that doesn't have a properly configured firewall in place. Microsoft (and myself) is strongly urging people to download and install the K835732 Security Update.

This is yet another reason for getting a Mac, folks. Macs just... don't have these problems.

While I'm bashing Microsoft, I'd like to point out this article written by a former Microsoftie who spells out in detail just how bad Microsoft has it. They've gotten so big that they need new business ideas that will give them billions of dollars in revenue. Things like iPod, which made $46 million in profit this quarter, are chump change to Microsoft, and not of interest to them because they are so darn big.
