Cool use for a digital camera!
Aug. 20th, 2004 12:24 amI just discovered a cool use for a digital camera.
I had to get the serial number off of my UPS, which I installed a few months ago. Normally this would involve me crawling around on the floor, memorizing a few parts of the number at a time, then going back to my computer to type it in. If I get lucky, I can even bang my head on the underside of my desk a few times!
This time around, an idea occurred to me. So I whipped out my digital camera, set it to macro mode, held it about 6 inches from the serial number, and snapped a picture. Then I sat back down at my desk, zoomed in on the picture on my camera, and just copied down the serial number from there.
I love technology!

The guys were talking pictures of cars, buildings, closeups of bugs, popsicle sticks, etc.
