This reminds me of a funny story. I don't know if it's true, but I'm not letting her get the benefit of the doubt.
I think we all know the story about the old lady who put her cat in the microwave to dry it, which killed the cat and she sued the electronics company. Apparently she had been used to drying her cat in a normal oven, which is of course completely normal.
This is the kind of idiocy you can't protect yourself against. You could've put a gigantic sign on the front of the microwave with a picture of a cat and a big red X across it. And the woman would have thought she just needed to slice the cat up before putting it in..
A friend of mine actually told me a similar story, except she actually did this when she was very young. Her cat got wet, she put it in the microwave, as soon as it hit zero all the hair on the cat exploded outward. Eventually the cat regrew its hair but it never walked or acted right after that.
that's one of those fake kittens that you can buy at some stores -- the first time I saw one, curled up on a cash register, I started to pet it before realizing it wasn't real. they're very well made, so are the puppies.
