I got together with some folks on Friday night and we went to see Robots! The plot of the movie was well, nothing exceptional. It was mostly aimed at the younger croud, I think. The execution, however, was well above average. The computer rendering paid attention to all of the details, such as rust on some of the robots and physics on the "transportation system". Some of the in jokes, such as the Red vs. Blue poster, were also pretty funny.

Here's a cheesy little group picture that we took because I had my digital camera on me, d0rk that I am:

On Saturday I got together with some other folks and then we drove around Philly in the pouring rain writing down names of restaurants and their locations for the Anthrocon conbook. There's one good thing about having the convention in the city this year, there are a LOT of different places to eat at!

One of those places happens to be a Subway shop about 2 blocks from the Wyndham. We had lunch there, and when I walked in there was the same girl who (up until a few months ago) worked at the Subway I frequent out in the suburbs. Kinda weird, but it was cool to chat with her again, and she even remembered what I usually ordered. Boy is she in for a surprise in July. :-)

Was there a Quiznos nearby? I am not really much of a Subway fan...

Personally, I pass on Quiznos. They don't customize the way I like. Unto each their own. I think Subway needed the competition anyway.

I dunno, man. There was LOTS of stuff in the area. So much, in fact, that we wrote it all down.

If you're hard up for Quiznos, check their website!

When you see the one on the left again, tell him his disguise failed miserably ;)

Looks like a fun group and that you had a good fun night. What? no ears, tails, spots or otherwise outwtardly furry things in sight? Nice to know there's some cheap eats around the hotel too, if need be.

See you at Anthrocon.

Nice group

A group of us that were left over after Megaplex also saw Robots The monday after the con. Yeah it was, as you said, the plot was nothing exeptional, but visually.... And it's really the company that you are with that is most important right? *smiles*

And yes, Food will not be an issue at this AC. If weather is nice can even walk up to our little Chinatown. There is a cool underground market there. Almost endless choices and No Dennys!

Say, do you know if there's a grocery store near the hotel this year?

I did not see any. There are some convienence stores several blocks away. I personally recall seeing at least one Wawa and 2 7-11s.
