Saturn of Devon is no more!
Apr. 4th, 2005 06:10 pmSo, I happen to own a Saturn. I like the company and the cars. Imagine my surprise this morning when I showed up at Saturn of Devon for a scheduled oil change only to discover... that it's now a Volkswagen dealership! The same people still work there (including Ellen Tiger!), but it's still just not the same.
Not only was I not told about this (I bought my Saturn from them, you'd think they would want to keep me informed of such things), but I just don't feel that they have my best interests as a Saturn owner in mind anymore. Heck, the VWs that I was looking at in their showroom were priced starting at around $20K and going all the way up to $70K. I'm worried that they're going to try and "upsell" me on one of their cars. :-(
Oh well, I think it's time to check out Saturn of West Chester.

Strange.

Date: 2005-04-05 01:23 am (UTC)We've been going to Saturn of Harrisburg ever since Ellen was on hiatus and Mike Baloney had us waiting two hours to change Taurin's oil. I'm sorry but if I have an appointment at 10 am I expect a technician to be working on the car by 10:05. :p

I'm starting to wonder if them no longer being a Saturn dealership wasn't a voluntary choice that they made...

Date: 2005-04-05 12:24 pm (UTC)Heck, if I could take me 10 year old S-10 to Saturn and have them do the maintenance on it, I would.
Silaria and I like the Saturn experience. We wouldn't take our '95 SL-2 anyplace else and we won't take the VUE that replaced it anywhere else either.
Hmmm...Do we need a "Saturn Furs" LJ community?? :)

Date: 2005-04-05 01:16 pm (UTC)I know that there are different kinds of maintenance that are required at different points in the car's life. (timing belt gets replaced every 60k miles, for example) If I keep taking my car to the same place, they'll know which things were performed and which were not.
From a business perspective, it's also in the best interests of the dealership to not screw me, assuming they want me to buy another car from them.
