We discovered today that if you leave Mountain Dew sit in a cabinet for 3 years, all of the CO2 goes away. I shook a bottle of the stuff for a good minute and did not get any gas whatsoever.

I guess the moral of the story is that I should drink my soda.

Remember those Phantom Menace promotional dew cans that came out with the movie? I still have them sitting unopened. At this point I'm scared to open one for fear I may release something humanity has no immunity for and no I’m not talking the Jar-jar can.

Oh, that reminds me. tailen had his first ever taste of root beer at Anthrocon. His response after trying A&W: "This tastes like toothpaste!"

Do soda bottles usually give you gas when you open them?
