First snow of the year!

gizaWhat an interesting day this was.
It started around 5:20 AM, when my cellphone beeped because of an SMS message that it had. It was just loud enough to make its way into my consciousness and disrupt my sleep, but not quite enough to wake me up. Then my smoke detector decided that its battery was failing, and it started beeping every half hour.
I love technology. So many different ways to annoy me.
Found myself having to get up early however, because I needed to take my Saturn to the dealership for maintenance. There was already 4 inches of snow on the ground, so a 20 minute drive was about 40 minutes instead. The upside to this is that it delayed me getting into work, so when my boss called me and said to stay home and work from there, I wasn't on the road yet.
Spent the rest of the day at home working and listening to the radio. Got to do R&D most of the day, and little actual coding, which was nice. Got caught up on laundry, too. :-)
And now, I think I'm going to go to bed at a reasonable time, for a change.
