Apple is coming to town!

I've just learned that they are putting an Apple Store in Suburban Square. Grand opening is March or April of 2006.

And this is less than 5 minutes walk from my house.

I think I just found a new place to hang out.

apple store fronts are such a waste of space, i mean their just so...empty

Say what? The last Apple Store I was in (which was uh, on Sunday), had Macs, Powerbooks, and iPods all over the place!

all the ones i seen have the products all around the outside edge and the middle is totally empty. the store coudl be 1/4 the size and not feel any more cramped

I haven't looked at them in detail yet, but I think the move to x86 was a really good.

First, according to Steve Jobs, G5s have been hitting a glass ceiling in terms of performance and heat.

Second, the hacker crowd has already figured out how to run OS/X on non-Apple hardware. This means better penetration of OS/X. If someone wants to give it a try and has some technical skills (like say, most Linux people out there), they can make that happen now. This can only be good for Apple's market penetration.
