I voted today

And the rest of you who are U.S. citizens should do so too. Voting is your civil right, and it is your chance to change the way things are.

Also, if you encounter any problems whatsoever when trying to vote, call 866-OUR-VOTE. In addition to having a call center staffed by experienced attorneys, they also have "mobile attorneys" who drive around waiting for problems to be reported so that they can stop by and fix the problem.


Vote. It's your legal right.

Voter Suppression in Ohio

This post in Daily Kos documents some of the problems currently going on in Ohio. Essentially, some of the more Democratic polling sites have been left with machines that do not function. Repeated calls to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections did not help; they kept promising that help was "5-10 minutes away", but that clearly wasn't the case. In fact, even the board-issued cell phone did not work.

Furs the Philly area might notice Blaze in the video. He describes how merely drawing his weapon saved him from being gay bashed by a group of homophobes.

For those of you who have never fired a gun, come to a Pink Pistols meet sometime. They'll teach you basic gun safety and let you fire some of the smaller weapons. If you still don't want to carry, that's cool. But at least you'll know how to use a gun properly. :-)
