To make a long story short, one of their guests dared question why George Bush had a lavish celebration after winning the second election, while the war was still going on. The Anchor from FOX did not seem too happy about this...

The inaugural party criticism is somewhat ironic considering that lavish White House parties first started during the Civil War as a way to boost morale in Washington during the fighting. This was also when the Republican Party rose to prominence on an anti-slavery platform.
