What I have is neither migranes nor Meniere's Disease.

The ENT looked at my MRIs this morning, and pointed out that there is a growth in my right sinus cavity that does not belong there. He explained that if none of the ducts are blocked, then I would not have any sinus problems. (my sinuses have been fine so far) He also sprayed some anesthetic up my nose and stuck a camera up there so he could look inside. That was interesting, in a made-me-ready-to-sneeze sort of way.

I've been sent to get a CT scan on Wednesday morning, and that will help tell the difference between if it's a cyst, which is rather harmless, or cancer, which would totally ruin my day. Though I probably won't find out the results of that until next Monday. Yeah... I'm going to sleep real well until then!

Oddly enough, my foot decided to start acting up again today as well. I'm seeing Dr. K about that tomorrow morning. Might as well get that taken care of too.

[Edit: A co-worker suggested that it's really a gnome who has taken up residence in my head. Hmm.]

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the better of the two diagnosis.

"Gnomes? Tasty." :) (See icon)

Well here's hoping the results come back with something benign in mind.

*Hugs*

Hope it’s the better of the two diagnoses. In either case your probably looking at surgery @_0 .

Does that mean he took down the "space for rent" sign? >^_^< .

Not a big deal. They could probablly just stick stuff up my nose. I'm serious, I stuff literature on this at my ENT's office.

If it's cancer, they could always irradiate the thing. An additional benefit would be that my eyes would glow in the dark.

Surgery via Nasal laparoscopy (Nasendoscopy, Rhinosinusoscopy, or sinusoscopy) is still surgery. Unless of course your talking about insertion of medicated packets. Just the thought of having medicated packets jammed up my nose makes my eyes water...

If your eyes start to glow in the dark, make sure to stand at the foot of kage's bed late at night sometime.

Yeah, it's surgery, but it's better than having to crack my head open to get in there. I mean, if it was something in the brain, that would have /really/ sucked.

As far as sticking stuff up my nose goes, if it helps the condition, I'm all for it. STUFF MY NOSE FULL!

Argh! It seems like February is "Unidentified Growth" month for a lot of people...

Shouldn't be too hard to do!

*runrunrunrunrunrunrun*

Seriously, I hope it turns out to be annoyingly trivial. I need you alive!

I like the gnome theory. And, 'glow in the dark' eyes...your electric bill would be less. Do ya think maybe you just inhaled a hairball?

Hey, I've got one of those too... an unidentified growth in one of my sinus cavities. An ENT friend of Gary's has offered to look at it if it every bothers me, but it hasn't, so I've ignored it.

Personally, I think it's the CIA-implanted microchip that controls my behavior*.

Huh, that's interesting. I saw Dr. K this morning and he pointed out that the "unidentified growth" in my nasal cavity probably isn't causing my ringing in the ear anyway, and chances are I'll be seeing a neurologist in the near future. It's just that the ENT is trying to rule out anything nasty. Whee.

Trust me, if they make you wait for results to see whether something is benign or malignant, that's good. If it were malignant, they would Not Fuck Around (tm) and tell you as quickly as possible so that treatment could start. But it's not going to be malignant, because I said so.

That's a good point, which I never thought of as I've never had tests like this done before. Thank you for sharing!

You know, my grandmother had a 5th wisdom tooth that snuck up into her nasal cavity and gave her hell for years before it was removed. Perhaps it's as simple (And as weird) as that.
