In ancient Greek culture, it was accepted that:

- an adolescent would learn about sex from older men. Hands-on, that is.
- Young men would have male lovers when there were no women around, such as in the army.
- it was OK to do stuff on the side with your buddies.

- as long as you didn't sleep with any woman besides your wife.
