Weekend stuff

So, my weekend was pretty cool. I went up and visited my parents for the first time in several months. They're doing well. They also gave me my Christmas presents, since I was out of the country during the holidays.

It was totally unplanned, but I ended up visiting a bunch of relatives while I was up there, since I was in the area. My cousin has an infant son now so that makes me like, a grand-uncle or sometihng. I had to explain to one of my aunts how Gaydar worked, which was amusing. (But she fed me coffee, so it was all good!)

Also, I picked up one of these badboys from Home Despot and set it up in my apartment. I then proceeded to go through several boxes full of stuff, some of which had been sitting in my apartment since I moved in here 4.5 years ago! I now have lots more floor space and can look into acquiring some other furniture (hall tables, half bookcases, etc.) to put my plushies and other small things on.

That reminds me. I found LOTS of interesting things while cleaning out my old stuff. Here's what I remember finding:

• TR-4 tapes with 4 Gig capacity
  
• 28.8 modem with manual
  
• Two-button serial mice
  
• Some personalized pens from when I became an Eagle Scout around 1992
  
• A Boy Scout nekerchief from the West Point Invitational Camporee in 1989!
  
• 100 MB Zip disks
  
• 1 1 Gig Jaz disk
  
• Unused 35 mm film that should be used "before 04/2002" (oops)
  
• Undeveloped film from about 2001. Not sure what's on it!
  
• An official Windows '95 CD, with Microsoft Plus!
  
• My Cabal Network Security collar bars that said "C.N.S"
  
• My Lion King mousepad
  
• Several 200, 220, and 240 Game pins from my league bowling days
  
• About two dozen calendars going back to 2001. Mostly big cat-related.
  
• A second smoke alarm, which I "installed" by placing it on top of my shelf (it's 2 feet from the ceiling)
  
• My S.P.U.T.U.M "bidness" cards
  
• An obituary of Carol A. Stephens, one of my elementary school teachers who died from ovarian cancer :-(
  
• My skateboard from working at TurnTide
  
• The card shenryyr sent me after we saw TLKoB in 1999
  
• 11 Conbooks from Anthrocon 2003
  
• 3 phonebooks
  
• A "donut pen" that floats in its holder due to magnetic repulsion
  
• A Pentium 3 CPU fan
  
• Two wall outlets that I forgot about!
  
• A 30 amphere UPS that I forgot about!
  
• The Anthrocon 2004 elevator guide (courtesy of the Dorsai)
  
• Two 48-port patch panels
  

I get my taxes done in two days. Wish me luck! :-P

*chuckle* And what did you tell her? My boss has been complaining that with the rise of metrosexuals, his gaydar has been giving a lot of false readings lately.
