There were these simease elephents at the circus. They were joined at the trunk and they'd rear up on their hind legs and this little monkey would run back and forth....

"...based on the new projections for the third quarter, I think we really need to consider holding off on implementation until... Bob? Are you okay? You look a little spaced out just now."

*walks up to the podium and takes a sip of water.*

I am pleased to announce after 4 years of crunching numbers and extensive computer simulations using existing DNA samples we believe we have successfully isolated the evolutionary path of the species known as Ursus Care. Its not pretty folks.

While the results are shocking the more interesting and frightening aspect is the timeframe for these changes to occure. We are currently seeing a transition within 80-100 years. Further tests have lead us to speculate that the primary cause of this rapid change is this species high output of love and caring. Most species simply weren’t built for this kind of crap. We are going over our figures again but at this point in time we have been in contact with the department of defense. Operation: bury the bear is being implemented as I speak now.
*takes another sip of water*

I’ll take your questions now.

The ether was wearing off. The acid was long gone. But the mescaline was running strong.

Good mescaline comes on slow. The first hour is all waiting, then about halfway through the second hour you start cursing the creep who burned you, because nothing is happening... and then ZANG! Fiendish intensity, strange glow and vibrations... a very heavy gig in a place like the Circus-Circus.

‘I hate to say this,’ said my attorney as we sat down at the Merry-Go-Round Bar on the second balcony, ‘but this place is getting to me. I think I'm getting the Fear.’

‘Nonsense,’ I said. ‘We came out here to find the American Dream, and now that we're right in the vortex you want to quit.’ I grabbed his bicep and squeezed. ‘You must realize,’ I said, ‘that we've found the main nerve.’

‘I know,’ he said. ‘That's what gives me the Fear.’

Is it just me, or does this sound like it came out of something by Hunter S. Thompson?
