I haven't written about myself in awhile, so here goes...

Two weekends ago was my first weekend with PS2 all to myself, so I spent quite a bit of time playing it. I beat Metal Gear: Solid, and got a good start on GTA3. I haven't had that much fun with a console in quite some time. I'm glad I made the choice to buy it.

During the week, things were pretty slow at work. I was in the cycle of writing specs for new projects, and waiting for for my boss and the sales guys to read them. Hopefully I'll actually get to do some actual coding next week.

Somewhere in there someone I met on FurryMUCK, [livejournal.com profile] atpaw, got himself a Live Journal. He's only a Cheetah. Please don't hold it against him. ;-)

My foot started acting up again during the week. I had been wearing some dress shoes because they were a little wider, and they helped at first. But after about a week of wearing them, the nerve in my foot got worse, and the muscles all along the left side of it started getting cramped and sore. Switching back to my sneakers helped, as did a few nights of soaking it in hot water for 20-30 minutes followed by 10-15 minutes of having it on ice. The nerve has started to quiet down again. I see the pawdiatrist again this week, maybe I'll get some more cortisone, yeah!

Yesterday, I decided to give the Opera web browser a try. Compared to Netscape, it kicks ass. Pages are rendered faster, it crashes less, doesn't hang at all, and has a much better user interface. I think I'm going to stick with it for awhile.

I didn't do much this weekend... I got caught up with chores around the apartment, picked up a couple of DVDs (The Abyss: Special Edition, and What Dreams May Come), and went looking for a bigger bed for my place. :-)

Yeah, Opera's pretty good as far as browsers go. Easily my browser of choice, even if it sometimes has trouble rendering pages which were written explicitly for Internet Explorer, or have weird bits of Javascript in 'em.

Gestures rock.

That's the fault of the page, not the browser.

Very true, but it's disappointing to have to swap to IE every once in a blue moon (if I can be bothered) to view a page. :)

PS2 and pawdiatrist.

I've been slowly considering upgrading finally to a PS2 from a PS1. I've been noticing the slow transisitions of most gaming stores and how the ONE titles are slowly being taken off shelves and not offerd, and not many new titles are being created. So it's a matter of time.. upgrade or just be lost in old system obscurity. :)

As for corizone shots. ... My mom has persistent ankle and joint problems from a skiing accident she suffered long time ago. Yet her doctor says that taking repeated cortizone shots could lose their effectiveness if taken too much, or too often. I'm not your pawdiatrist and not an expert by any means, just relaying some information My mom in similar foot-aching trouble has got from HER doctor. Mebbe you wanna ask this of yours and see what he says in this respect.

Friendly 'roo advice...
