Well, I know how I"M getting to AC!

Well no, actually I"m driving, but still.

The foolishness of the "So Called" Security proceedures at the airport is well shown here. The process he went through is a far more secure and sane method of check in than the current.

We are now ready to ungrade this non-sense. Metal detector, X-Ray and Puffer.. Beep, Scan, Puff and you're through and just about as safe as anything and you bearly have to slow down to do it.

Get with the 21st century, people.

I'm curious if PHL and BWI are the same.

Cuz then I might start flying again.

When I first flew to California on a Fur quest (I'm allowed to be corny, right?) I had with me a scalpel that I forgot to leave at home

And flew with it with me (meaning I didn't check it in, but had it in the cockpit) both ways... I know a Scalpel isn't quite as threatening as a knife, but shouldn't I not have been allowed to fly with it, when they don't even allow nail clippers? =P

Sadly what that means is that if someone really wants to get something on the plane they will, regardless of the "new and improved" security

I have always been asked for my passport to fly, because all but a couple of times I've always flown internationally, it just makes sense (you don't want to get there and find out you don't have your passport, especially to the US); so this "show ID" thing wouldn't really bother me. What's wrong with verifying you're the person on the ticket's name?
I don't think it makes the process any more secure (or hardly any more secure); but I don't see what's wrong either.

Why am I /not/ suprised that this is related to someone from the EFF.

That said, pilots never need to go through security, :P I can't wait to get my certifiacate.
