Religions aren't messed up. People are messed up. People take a good idea that is presented in most religions and completely frack it up by taking things too far and pervert the ideas so it conforms to one's own ideals. Don't like something? Guaranteed that SOMEWHERE in the Bible it says just what you want to hear. Sometimes I'm embarrassed to call myself a Christian. I mean people seemed to have missed the part of the bible that teaches compassion, kindness, and tolerance. They must have gotten the abridged version.

Often, it's not nessessarily the religion that's messed up, but the people that are following the religion are fine, but the leadership is messed up. And a lot of people follow it blindly.
