I saw Dr. G again last night. Got another lovely shot of cortisone in my foot. We talked more about the condition of my foot and one thing he suggested it may be is Capsulitis. Some key things from there include: pain when walking on hard surfaces (happens to me), and it is often misdiagnosed as Morton's Neuroma. The good news is that it can be treated with orthotics. Which leads me to...

I was measured for orthotics last night. However, they didn't tell me until I arrived for my appointment that not only do most medical insurances not pay for them, but that they also cost a whopping $325. Dammit. :-(

The orthotics are expected to arrive in 2-3 weeks. We'll see what happens then. Urk.

$325 is reasonable...

My dad has to wear orthotics as well for a foot condition he has.
*one I MAY inherit in a few years to come as I have the same build and walk as he does.
But he payed about the same when he needed to get a new pair a few months back. The PLUS side is.. they CAN and wILL take a good bit of abuse and they are tough little bastards.
One of the things that affect their price is that they are also 'custom fit' to your foot.
So.. just letting ya know.. it's ultimately good for you. Just dont' go losing them when ya take 'em out of your fursuit paws. ;)
