Clearly we must conduct an experiment.

That just shows that they land that close to the beach. What I meant when I said I thought it was fake was the jetwash blowing the people on the beach into the water. I'm pretty sure that safety regs wouldn't let them taxi close enough to the beach for that to happen.

If you do a bit of research, you'll find that it used to be popular to take dogs to the beach and let them be blown off into the ocean. (This is now illegal).

I stand corrected :)

At least I said "I think" instead of "It's gotta be a fake!" :)

o.O What sick son of a bitch would do that to any animal?! I mean WEEEE what fun. Puppy gets blown out to sea. Something in the same vein as pulling the legs of your pet hamster, cauterized the wounds with an iron, and calling him stubby.
Seriously though. That is sick.

Note that the parent poster did not say whether the dogs were able to swim back or not. In fact, they might have even enjoyed getting tossed through the air.

Sound crazy? I know of a person who used to go skydiving and take his dog WITH him. He had a special parachute harness made up for the dog. And the best part is that the dog LOVED it.

Unless you had a very small dog (stupid dachshund) and a VERY big plane (say... C-5) I think swimming back wouldn't be a problem...

(Still not a good idea...)

I tend to agree, its a very dumb place for an airstrip, especially one for a biiiig jet. Might not be real.

Actually, I saw a YouTube that showed a very similar beach and airport. It was some dude filming the jets as they swoop in, wheels down, right over this beach to land like 100 foot away on the run way. It was on some island in the pacific though.

Course...it is YouTube and I just might be a gullible little fox too.

This is a rather famous/infamous approach/takeoff.

For more information, look up the approach plates and airport information. Airport is PJIA - Approach is DME/VOR on RWY 09
