The Weekend
Aug. 14th, 2006 10:35 amI had a weekend that started slow and picked up towards the end.
I didn't do too much on Saturday, other than hang out at my place, watch a couple episodes of Rescue Me, and visit the gym.
On Sunday, I did my first ever vehicle rservation with PhillyCarShare. I took one of the Mini Coopers for a spin on I-95. The service pretty much worked as advertised -- I walked a few blocks to where the car was parked, let myself in with my electronic key, and drove off. When I needed to get gas, I used the fuel card stored in the glove compartment. Returning the car was easy, as there was an on-street space reserved specifically for PhillyCarShare.
After finishing up with the car, I realized that I was just a few blocks away from
randomzen. So I dropped by his place and we got food and drink. Then we dropped by his place and drank some more. I ended up falling asleep early and crashing on his sofa, which necessetated me getting up at 6 AM to catch a train back to my place, shower, shave, and come back into the city to work just a few blocks away.
In other news:
- Tiki The Weasel is a fun little cartoon that I was pointed to. Created by
weaselflavour.
- I discovered a cool website called packtrack. It can be used to keep track of packages shipped through UPS, USPS, FedEx, and 60-some other shipping services. You can create an account so that the tracking numbers are remembered. That way you don't have to enter in a 16 digit number every time you want to check on a package. Very cool!
- RIAA Sues Dead Man, Attempts to Depose Surviving Relatives. It turns out that the plaintiff's lawyer, one Matthew Krichbaum, has also been accused of trying to put words in a 15-year old girl's mouth whom he was deposing. What a nice guy. It seems his offices are in Ann Arbor, in case anyone there feels like doing a little protesting. :-)
