Mutiny as passengers refuse to fly until Asians are removed - British passengers staged a mutiny, refusing to let their plane take off until two Asian passengers were removed. The reason for the 150 passengers getting agitated was because the two men were overheard talking in a language that "apparently" sounded like Arabic.

Also, Muslim pilot reveals shock at being ordered off flight - A British Muslim of Pakistani origin was ordered off a Continental Airlines flight and then questioned by armed police officers. Oh yeah, did I mention that he was a PILOT for one of Continental's PARTNER AIRLINES? Way to go, Continental.

I'm just waiting for the lawsuits to be filed on these two cases, especially the second. We'll see what wins this little debacle: fear of terrorists, or fear of being sued. Either way, it's going to be fun to watch from a safe distance away!

Absolutly nothing...at least that is what will come of this.
Back in Detroit, shortly after 9/11 when the planes started to fly again. a Northwest flight was delayed until police escorted off two Latino gentlemen because of the asshats on the plane refused to fly until they were removed since they might have been arabic. A local DJ was on the flight and said that if the two gentlemen were forced to leave, then so would he. The plane left without them. He made a big stink about it on the air for a week, but nothing was said. nothing appeared in the papers above the fold or closer to the front than page 8. swept under the rug...just like these latest incidents are going to be.
Too bad more people are not like the DJ. If enough people stood upagainst kneejerk bigoted stupidity, we would be in a hell of a lot better shape.

Tensions were still pretty high shortly after 9/11.

But now it's ~5 years later, and I think peoples' attitudes have softened somewhat, especially with our goverments preaching doom and gloom which has failed to happen.

Every single passenger on that plane that walked off should be arrested and charged with the crime of "Intentional Harassment, Alarm or Distress: Racially Aggravated" (Crime and Disorder Act 1998, s31(1)(b)) under the Public Order Act 1986.

There is NO room for ANY tolerance of this sort of shennanigans, racism and outright cowardice.
