Even more interesting is that, surprisingly, his kids weren't sued. With the RIAA going fruitbat flapjacks over anyone who they even suspect of downloading music, it is shocking to see that this isn't happening to the CEO's kids. (And yes, the RIAA has bullied kids before)
Oh well, I guess that Edgar Bronfman and his family just live by different rules than the rest of us. Must be nice to be in the upper class.

Date: 2006-12-05 03:22 pm (UTC)I don't think this is a case of CEO abusing his position in order to make the RIAA not sue him. It is more of a case of the RIAA knowing who butters their bread.
While I dislike the methods and extent the RIAA goes to "protect their member's property", one shouldn't copy music one hasn't paid for if they have the opportunity.
And, speaking of an opportunity, I think that the CEO used this as an opportunity to preach the word of "Don't Copy Music".
