So, Anthrocon is 5.5 months out, and the Westin hotel is darn close to capacity.

We have no idea what happened either, nor why it happened so fast. In case anyone feels left out in the cold, my parents did not get a hotel room in time either.

When the Westin fills up, we've got overflow space at the Omni hotel. Plus, they have gryphons:



We're working with some other hotels too, to try and find everyone accommodations at discounted rates. We'll keep you all posted.

All the people who just had to put up with being at the overflow hotel at FC are booking now so that it doesn't happen to them again. :)

Seriously, I just got my room, and have talked to several people who booked on Tuesday, right after FC ended.

What are you talking about? Hotels do not charge for reservations. They only charge you when you actually show up.

And your convention doesn't have a limited number of registration spaces available, does it? (that's what's stopping me with EF, they're almost sold out... Them the con, not the hotel; or so I heard; but if I registered now I'd have to pay soon)

Correct, we have (in theory) unlimited membership capacity.

Though if we ever break 10,000, the entire Board will probably die from simultaenous heart attacks. :-P

booked mine about a week after I found out they were accepting reservations, somepoint back octoberish . it's a usually safe bet. ;0

Indeed, I'm glad I checked out the website and saw Kage's post about it. I prodded GreenReaper about it and the rooms were thusly reserved :) Almost panicked when the Westin was full, luckly we did get one at the omni. :) Yea for second convention ever (and first convention where I'm 21 too, heh).
