I've heard of businesses getting raided by ARMED FEDERAL MARSHALLS for refusing to submit to a BSA software audit. Something which no law on the books requires any business to submit to.
It should be perfectly legal to tell these asshats to GO FUCK THEMSELVES when they come knocking without fearing them coming back a couple of weeks later with full-auto weapons.
Why the hell does our government bestow such power and authority over these private organizations? I wonder how much under-the-table money flows to cause this.
Sigh. Corruption sucks.
