So, I added tagging to my journal...

So, I decided to start using tags on my LJ. I also went into my tag management page and set things so that anyone on my friends list can create new tags or add existing ones to my entries. This way, readers can classify my journal entries according to their preferences. Call it a social experiment, if you will.

To tag one of my entries, please do the following:

1) Click on the link to "view comments" for a particular entry.

2) At the top of the entry you are now viewing, you'll see a button that looks like this: Click on it.

3) Scroll down past the entry, and you'll see a text box where you can enter tags, and a select list underneath of it where you can select existing tags if you like. Enter whatever tags you feel are appropriate, and then click "Save Tags". That's it!

FYI, viewing entries by tag (journal.livejournal.com/tag/tagname) will only show the first 100 entries of a particular tag, so you may want to monitor your popular tags

Cool, back when I tagged my LJ they didn't have the option to allow other people to tag entries too (at least I don't think so)

I set mine like that, but nobody tagged anything. Probably because I don't post much worth tagging.

Nobody's ever added tags to my journal, either.  And almost nobody ever uses tags to view past entries on my journal (my logs show that this has happened less than 5 times in the last year).

I added tag "lj-workings" to this entry, just to go through the motions of adding a tag.  Does LJ send you a message that somebody has retagged one of your entries?

Also, it'd be nice if there was an AJAX-y way to tag entries while view an LJ or a friends list. Having to view the comments on a post just to tag it requires too many jumping through hoops, IMHO.
