Performance Review

Got my performance review at work just now.

Phrases like, "exceeds expectations", "steadily showed improvement", and "numerous contributions" were all present. Certainly good to have.

But one comment puzzled me: "The decor in Doug's cube is appropriate for the office". I'm not sure why they mentioned that. Maybe they really liked my coffee pot? :-P

What else is in your cubicle?

Either thats a baseline they do for everyone, like a checklist "Cubicle Environment: Satisfactory" or they must intend to use you as a refrence.

Despite the subject matter you administrate, I doubt they would want it all over your cube walls. There probebly happy the stuff you do have on the walls is more tasteful.

Must be all those framed commissions by Taurin Fox you've got hanging about. :)

Glad to hear you got a good review.

There's a good chance that the boss or some other management doesn't like the stuff somebody else has in their cubicle. By putting it as a comment in your, and presumably your coworkers', reviews, they can go ahead and tell whoever it is that they need to take down the porn or whatever in their cube. It's a preemptive way of being able to neutralize any complaints from the individual that they're being singled out. After all, it's in everybody's review, not just that person's.

Congrats!  So I guess you've decided to stick around for another year?

Based on where and what environment you work in, would there honestly be anything that could be inappropriate for the office?

It's good you have yearly reviews. Our group is supposed to have them yearly, but oftentimes it ends up being a lot longer than a year.

I'm not really worried though. There are people in our group that work hard, and others who all that's expected of them is they actually show up at work. Others in the building take notice, and know who works, and who doesn't.

You're working for a porn company, right? :)
